Acosta, Thomas named GSAC DIII Basketball POTW
VINELAND - Impressive weeks by Alonsa Thomas and Nick Acosta garner GSAC Division 3 Basketball Player of the Week honors.
Alonsa Thomas - Camden CC
Thomas led the Cougars to a 3-0 week with dynamic statistical outputs. Thomas contributed 14 pts and 7 rebounds in a win against CC Philadelphia. She would then follow that up with consecutive double doubles in victories against Atlantic Cape (17 points, 12 rebounds, 6 steals) and Passaic CC (18 points, 21 rebounds, 3 steals).
Nick Acosta - Union
Nick Acosta of the UCNJ Owls had a monster week for the group as they finished a perfect 2-0 . Acosta averaged 25 points , 16 rebounds 4 blocks and 2 steals this week to help the Owls advance to 3-1 on the season. Nicholas had his season high with 30 points 23 rebounds and 4 blocks against Harrisburg Community College Saturday afternoon 11/16/24. He has a relentless motor dominating every possession whether it's rebounding, blocking shots or scoring the ball ; Acosta does it all on the floor.
Union returns to the court on on Tuesday, November 19th as they hit to the road to face Atlantic Cape Community College. Tip-off is slated for 6:00pm.
