Mercer's McKenzie and Conover named GSAC DII Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week

Toms River, NJ - The Garden State Athletic Conference has named Mercer's Torin McKenzie DII baseball player of the week, and Mercer's Ryan Cononver DII baseball pitcher of the week for the week ending May 12, 2024.

Player of the Week: Torin McKenzie came up big at the plate and helped Mercer win the Region 19 Championship. McKenzie went 10 for 13 in 3 games, including a perfect 5 for 5 in a 14-6 win vs Sussex. McKenzie also had 6 RBIs, 5 runs and 4 doubles in the Vikings three tournament wins.

Pitcher of the Week: Relief pitcher Ryan Conover had two strong appearances vs Lackawanna to help Mercer win the Region 19 Championship. Conover allowed no earned runs and just two hits in 3.3 innings pitched. Conover had three strikeouts and no walks and got his eighth save of the season and fourth win. For his efforts, Conover was named the Region 19 Tournament MVP.
