Bergen's Scalabrini and Middlesex's Horowitz named GSAC DIII Player and Pitcher of the Week.

Toms River, NJ - The Garden State Athletic Conference has named Ian Scalabrini of Bergen and Joshua Horowitz of Middlesex the player and pitcher of the week, respectively, for the week ending April 21, 2024.

Player of the Week: 

This week, Ian Scalabrini, demonstrated exceptional skill and consistency, tallying 11 hits, including 4 doubles and 2 homers, out of 19 at-bats. His contributions resulted in 7 runs scored and 12 RBIs. His standout performance helped the team secure victories against Middlesex (9-6) and Luzerne (24-0), leading to a 2-2 record for the week.

Pitcher of the Week: 

Joshua Horowitz emerged as an asset on the mound for his team this week, making three appearances and boasting an impressive record of 1-0 with three saves. Across 9.1 innings pitched, he demonstrated remarkable control, allowing only 2 earned runs while striking out an impressive total of 12 batters. Despite conceding 10 hits, his ability to limit damage and deliver in crucial situations was instrumental in his team's success. With Horowitz's contributions, his team secured an impressive 7-1 record for the week.
