Jaslin Walker announced as GSAC DII Womens Basketball Player of the Week
VINELAND - In a standout performance for Union last week, freshman guard Jaslin Walker earnes GSAC DII Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The Owls engaged in a trio of games, emerging victorious in two contests while experiencing a lone defeat.
Walker's marksmanship from beyond the arc was a key highlight, as she showcased an impressive 47.6% accuracy, connecting on 10 of 21 three-point attempts on the week. Notably, against Chesapeake College, Walker exhibited her scoring prowess with a remarkable 21 points, hitting 7 of 8 from long range, while also contributing 3 rebounds and 5 steals to the team's success. In the matchup against Monroe College, Walker demonstrated her versatility with 8 points and an impressive 9 rebounds.
Closing out the week against Erie Community College, Walker continued to shine, contributing 11 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Cumulatively, Walker's week-long performance boasted an average of 13.3 points per game, 7 rebounds per game, and 2.3 steals per game.
Looking ahead, Union is set to return to the court on Thursday, January 18th, facing off against Middlesex College with tip-off scheduled for 5 pm.
