NJCAA Region 19 Men's Tennis Tournament this Weekend
This weekend will crown a Region 19 Champion in Men's Tennis. Tournament play begins at 10:00 am on Friday, May 2nd at Mercer County Park. It should be exciting as a deep field will contest for the title. Bergen CC are the defending Region Champions and return three members from the championship team a season ago.
Gloucester CC has won five of the last seven Region 19 Championships and has won the last four NJCAA Division III National Championships. They come into the tournament as a slight favorite having defeated Bergen CC in their most recent head to head matchup. Defending Region 19 Singles Champion Maclane Smoke returns to defend his title at #1 singles.
The top three teams in Men's Tennis can qualify for the NJCAA National Championships which will be held in Plano, TX May 10-17. The Region singles and doubles champions can also qualify for the National Championship as well.
