CC Philadelphia Takes Men's Division III Region XIX Title; Marcus Smith Named MVP

Lincroft, NJ - After breaking the sixth tie in the final eight minutes, the Community College of Philadelphia defeated No. 7 Camden County College, 68-62, in the Region XIX Division III Men's Championship game.

The Joe Papiano Tournament MVP Marcus Smith scored a team-high 14 points, including a streak of three-three pointers during a 15-2 run to close out the first half and give the Colonials a 40-31 lead. Head coach Joe Rome was named the Doug Yennie Coach of the Year for leading his squad to a final overal record of 25-2.

CC Philadelphia will now travel to SUNY Sullivan to participate in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament on March 12th.
