Congratulations to Gabriel Caso (baseball) at Northampton Community College, Aria Reyes (softball) at Lackawanna College, and Bintu Sheriff (outdoor men's track & field)  at Delaware County Community College as this week's EPAC POTW. 

 

Gabriel Caso led the Spartan offense this week to 6 wins; batting 12/23 (.522) with 6 runs scored - 6 doubles - 14 runs batted in and 3 stolen bases. Caso hit safely in all 6 games this past week; leading Northampton Community College to a perfect (6-0) week.

 

Aria Reyes went 19-for-28 (.679 BA) last week in 12 games for the Falcons, helping Lackawanna go 10-2 in the process. Reyes scored 12 runs, had 13 RBI, hit three doubles, a triple, and a home run while drawing three walks and stealing a pair of bags. Reyes had a sky-high 1.674 OPS (.710 OBP + .964 SLG) and also won a pair of games in three appearances in the pitching circle. Reyes was a combined 5-for-7 with a run scored and a double in a doubleheader split with Delaware Tech Community College. She was a combined 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI, with a double and a triple, in a doubleheader sweep over County College Morris. Reyes had seven total RBI in a pair of wins against Raritan Valley Community College and had two more RBI in a win against Northampton Community College on Sunday. In the circle, she allowed three runs on seven hits in five innings against Monroe for a victory, then came on in emergency relief against Salem Community College, allowing two runs on seven hits and three strikeouts, securing a crucial win. Because of her stellar week at the plate, Reyes's season average climbed by nearly 120 points, up to a .352 batting average this year. Reyes has 29 runs scored, and 31 total hits this year, driving in 22 RBI. She has a pair of home runs, has drawn 13 walks, and has stolen nine bases. Pitching, Reyes is now 8-3 in 14 games, with a 4.16 ERA. She has given up 46 runs, 39 earned, in 65.2 innings pitched, striking out 29. 

 

Bintu Sheriff is the only female athlete on the Delaware County Community College Track and Field Team for the 2024 Outdoor Season and she qualified for the NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field National Meet in the 100m this past weekend at the Paul Donahue Invitational at Widener University with a time of 13.65 seconds. She is the first individual athlete to qualify for the national meet for our school this year.
