Mercer Women's Soccer Crowned DII Region 19 Champions

For the first time in sixteen years, MCCC men's and women's soccer teams both are Region 19 Champions.  Mercer women defeated Essex CC 10-0 in the Region 19 Championship to advance to the East District Championship. Mercer women will play Anne Arundel CC on Friday, November 8th at 2:00 PM, with the winner qualifying for the NJCAA Division II National Championship.

In Mercer women's soccer 10-0 win over Essex, freshman Eva Strum (Berlin, Germany/Gymnasium Steglitz) scored six goals and was named the Region 19 Tournament MVP.  Sturm, who earlier this week was named the DI/II Region 19 Player of the Year was also presented with this award after the game.  In Mercer's two Region 19 Tournament games, Sturm had nine goals and four assists.  Second year Women's Head Coach Ron Stinson was named the Region 19 Coach of the Year.
