Austin and Marsh named GSAC DIII Pitcher/Player of the Week

VINELAND - Another dynamic week by the Middlesex Colts Softball team leads to a sweep of the GSAC Pitcher/Player of the Week honors.

Pitcher - Ava Austin

Ava Austin had a stellar week in the circle, earning her first collegiate win and picking up four victories overall. She started strong on Friday, throwing a complete 7-inning game against Finger Lakes, allowing no earned runs and striking out six. On Saturday, she followed up with another 5-inning complete game against Camden, adding six more strikeouts.
 
On Sunday, Austin delivered once again. She came on in relief in game one against Dutchess CC, striking out two without allowing a run. In game two, she went the distance, giving up just one earned run and recording six more strikeouts.
 
Player - Makenzie Marsh
 
Makenzie Marsh delivered another standout performance for the Colts. The sophomore second baseman was unstoppable over eight games, hitting .520 with 13 hits, 7 RBIs, 12 runs, and 2 stolen bases. Her efforts helped lead the Colts to a perfect 8-0 week, boosting their season record to an impressive 13-1.
