GSAC D2 Basketball POTW announced

VINELAND - A pair of Mercer Vikings sweep the GSAC Player of the Week honors as both led their teams to impressive weeks.

Womens - Zaakirah Edwards - Mercer

Zaakirah Edwards helped lead MCCC to 2 wins this, averaging 23.5 points including 27 points in a 79-65 win at Essex. Edwards also went 14 for 15 from the free throw line in the win at Essex. Edwards did more than score this week. In a 88-55 win, Edwards had 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals along with 20 points.

Mens - Torren Greene - Mercer

In Mercer's 109-94 win vs Atlantic Cape, Greene scored a career high 37 points. In that game, Greene had 6 threes and went 15 for 21 (71% from the field) to help MCCC to a 101-94 win. In Mercer's two wins this week, Green averaged 26 points and shot 58% from the field.
